Lynx CEO John Driver appointed Chairman of the Fleet Science Center board

“Lynx owes its existence to science and engineering, especially in the area of software development. Supporting an iconic institution like The Fleet with STEM at its heart is a natural fit, and I’m excited to be a part of STEM’s future in the greater San Diego area.

Lynx Technology, an IoT smart home, media server solution and application development company, today announced that its CEO John Driver has been appointed chairman of The Fleet Science Center Board of Directors.

The mission of the Fleet Science Center is to achieve a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science. With over 100 interactive exhibits, the Eugene Heikoff and Marilyn Jacobs Heikoff Giant Dome IMAX Theater, science workshops, educational camps, and community programs and events in San Diego County, the Fleet Science Center seeks to make science accessible to all.

Driver initially joined the board in 2017 as he aligned with the fleet’s commitment to introduce people of all ages to STEM (science, engineering, technology, and math), both in his location at Balboa Park and in the community of San Diego in general. . Now, as Chairman of the Board, Driver confirms his commitment to the transformative power of STEM science and education.

“When people come together to talk about science topics with the same enthusiasm and enthusiasm that we see in conversations about sports teams, we know we are making a difference in the community,” said Driver. “I firmly believe that the Fleet Science Center is not just a place, but a resource for the San Diego community. Chairing the Board gives me the opportunity to give back and add a spark of enthusiasm for STEM to people of all ages who live in San Diego County or who visit the Fleet Science Center.

This isn’t the first time Driver has shown his commitment to STEM education and the community. He is CEO of Lynx Technology, a company whose vision is to make people’s lives easier by making their environment smarter. Driver recently posted a series of videos on the impact of STEM on his life and community (available to watch here).

“Lynx owes its existence to science and engineering, especially in the area of software development,” continued Driver. “Supporting an iconic institution like The Fleet with STEM at its heart is a natural fit, and I’m excited to be a part of STEM’s future in the greater San Diego area. “

Working with the Fleet Science Center board, management and staff, Driver will help continue the mission of achieving a San Diego where everyone is connected to the power of science.
